West Australian Jason Lee is the new world record holder for the most Muay Thai rib-kicks in 30 seconds.
Lee recorded 70 kicks in half a minute as he raised funds alongside Joondalup’s Diesel Gym for the Telethon Kids Institute.
“I was very lucky to have my family, friends and students cheering me on.” Lee said.
“They gave that extra bit of strength I needed to get those last couple of kicks out and I couldn’t have don’t it without them.”
For the world record to stand, Lee had to kick a standard set of Thai pads held at the height of his rib cage with the same left for 30 seconds using his shin.
His foot had to touch the floor before he completed every kick.
Lee said he wanted to help his club and support the telethon kids by making a difference and doing something great.
“I hope to inspire my students to stand strong and never give up on their goals. Strength doesn’t come from what you can do. It comes from doing the things you once thought you couldn’t.”
Diesel Gym’s fundraising attempts including the world record raised over $1,200.
