It is easy to confuse Muay Thai, Thai boxing and kick boxing. However, there are some important difference between Muay Thai or Thai Boxing as practiced here at Diesel Gym and what is known as “kickboxing”.
Kickboxing and Thai boxing are similar in the sense they both use punches and kicks. However in addition, Thai boxing involves the use of knees, elbows and clinching. At competition level, the scoring system is also completely different. Kickboxing originated in and is popular in Europe, whereas Thai boxing is an ancient form of martial arts originating from Thailand.
